Last week we read lots of Gingerbread books. We read the Gingerbread Man, the Gingerbread Boy, The Stinky Cheese Man, Gingerbread Fred, and finally the Gingerbread Baby. There is a gingerbread house at the end of the Gingerbread Baby so on Friday we did that for our Fun Friday activity. We made two; one for the boys and one for the girls.
First are the pictures of the girls house. They were very eager and theirs kind of fell apart.

Native American Lunch
Today we all dressed as Native Americans for lunch. Yesterday we dressed as Pilgrims. We have learned a lot about the Pilgrims and Native Americans the last couple of weeks. Here are some of the things we have learned:
Omar: "Some Native Americans lived in teepees."
Skyler: "Native Americans lived in different houses and they didn't paint them."
Brooklyn: "The Pilgrims came over on the Mayflower."
Sarah: "The Pilgrims helped start Thanksgiving."
Quincy: "Native Americans sometimes lived in teepees so they could move around."
Even though we looked at all kinds of stuff about longhouses, wigwams, and chickees, somehow the famous teepee is what always sticks in their mind!
